Class 4 Trip Inspections

When car-sharing services — including drivers operating through platforms like Uber — were approved to operate in Saskatchewan, SGI anticipated a significant rise in applications for Class 4 licences. At the same time, increased immigration meant more new residents were entering the graduated licensing system, placing added pressure on driver examiners. Many road tests were being rebooked because applicants arrived in vehicles that did not meet safety standards before the driving portion even began. To help streamline the process, our Driver Development department partnered with my team to create a five-part video series clearly outlining what examiners inspect during a road test. I helped develop the scripts, coordinate interviews and narration, guide storyboarding and creative direction, and oversee editing and final production. The videos were widely viewed, contributed to a measurable reduction in repeat tests, and remain in use today as an effective public education tool.
